Palawan & Boracay named one of the 50 Most Beautiful Places in the World

by | 5 Nov, 2020 | Travel Industry Updates

The Department of Tourism (DOT) celebrates the news that two of our prime destinations – Palawan and Boracay, have made it to Big 7 Travel’s list of the 50 Most Beautiful Places in the World, ranking 8th and 18th, respectively.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that the citation brings immense pride not only to the DOT, but to the entire country as well.

This recognition comes at an auspicious time, just as our efforts to reopen tourism in Boracay and Palawan to a greater number of tourists have come to fruition.

The DOT is optimistic that the inclusion in this prestigious list will inspire more people to regain confidence to travel, helping the Philippines’ tourism industry to recover after this challenging period.

Moreover, the DOT remains fully committed to restart tourism especially in our premiere destinations with health and safety protocols in place to ensure the well-being of our visitors.
